The outermost layer of the eye, which is shaped like a half-sphere, takes on an oval form, and the curvature of the eye is not the same in all directions. This condition is known as astigmatism.
Astigmatism is often observed in conjunction with myopia and hypermetropia. Objects may appear elongated in the direction of astigmatism for the individual. Additionally, there may be scattering of light at night.
